The America's Vanity Cup, the richest event in team bass fishing, is coming back for another go at the number #1 rated bass lake in the country – Clearlake, giving some lucky team a chance to earn big cash, and perhaps break the all-time two-day record of 74.20 pounds set by the team of Mark Crutcher and Greg McCosker in last year's early March event.
That's right… this year's event will again be held March 1-2, 2008, at Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa), and this time will not conflict with any of the major events produced by FLW or B.A.S.S, giving anyone that ever wanted to fish in a fun, BIG money event, an opportunity to do so with a partner of their choice.
A big all-you-can eat dinner, raffle, entertainment and much more is being planned to make the 2008 event even better than last year's, so make sure you mark your calendars so you too can be part of this great event which for 2008 will be televised.
Details regarding the event are as follows:
Entry Fee: $1,000 per team - Entry includes daily big fish option, and all-you-can-eat dinner on Friday, Feb 29th.
BONUS !!! - Be one of the first 100 sign-ups are you will be entered to win one of five Dobyns swimbait rods with R2Sea "Bottom Walker" swimbait (the bait that set a 10-fish record in last year's Vanity Cup)
Click on "Official rules/payout" tab (above) for more information and payout details on this event, or click the "entry form" tab (above) to print out and send in your entry..
History of "Vanity Cup"
The "Vanity Cup" is the brain child of founder Jim Chute, avid outdoorsman, and native of Canada. The "America's Vanity Cup" draws it's origins from the Canadian version of the event that has been part of an on-going tradition in the Canadian province of Saskatawan, drawing a full field of teams from all of the Canadian provinces and many northern U.S states, for an astounding 14 consecutive years. Having received the province's highest award for the “Best Outdoor Event of the Year” (eclipsing the popular CFL “Grey Cup” football event), it is by far, the most popular and exclusive event attended by the most prominent walleye anglers in the nation of Canada and Northwest Territories . In following with the grand heritage of this Canadian-born event, it was determined that the time for the Vanity Cup to evolve and migrate to the U.S.A.had come where American anglers now enjoy it's rich traditions and angling fun.
